Lenovo Web Camera Shutter

Seton Hall University issued Lenovo laptops contain a physical shutter/cover that can be utilized to either open or close (block) the integrated web camera that is located on the top of the laptop's screen.

The following models of device offer the camera shutter:

• Lenovo X390 Yoga

• Lenovo Thinkpad T490s

• Lenovo ThinkPad X13 Yoga (all models)

• Lenovo ThinkPad T14s (all models)

To operate the shutter (i.e. move from open to closed and vice versa), slide the small switch located directly above the camera lens. Sliding the switch will open or close the camera. When the camera shutter is closed there will be a red colored dot displayed over the camera lens.
