MS Teams Meeting Verification for External Users

To improve security and prevent unauthorized access to MS Teams meetings hosted by Seton Hall University, a new verification process has been introduced. External users invited to a meeting must complete a CAPTCHA verification before joining. Watch this video tutorial or follow the steps below to join a MS Teams meeting as an external user.

 

How to Join a MS Teams Meeting as an External User:

  1. Click the Join the meeting now link in your email invitation.

  2. Follow the prompts to join the meeting, including enabling audio and video.

  3. Enter your name and select Join now.

  4. A CAPTCHA verification screen will appear.

    • You will be prompted to enter the randomly generated alphanumeric characters displayed on the screen.

    • If preferred, you can select Verify with audio instead to hear the characters and Type what you hear in the provided box.

  5. Once you have entered the verification characters, click Submit to complete the process and join the meeting.
