LinkedIn Learning in Canvas

LinkedIn Learning in Canvas

LinkedIn Learning provides the Seton Hall community with unlimited access to a vast library of expert-led video tutorials and courses covering topics such as leadership, professional development, creative tools, and technology. These resources support both quick skill-building and more in-depth learning, with content suitable for all experience levels.

You can seamlessly integrate videos, courses, and learning paths from LinkedIn Learning into your Canvas course. For example, you might assign a video like "Time Management for Students" around midterms to support study habits, or the course “Adobe Firefly Essential Training” for students working on a digital media project.

Incorporating LinkedIn Learning helps students take greater ownership of their learning and develop practical, lifelong skills they can apply in their careers.

Benefits of Using LinkedIn Learning in Your Course

  • Teach industry-relevant skills aligned with professional expectations.

  • Support flexible, self-paced learning to meet students where they are.

  • Enhance career readiness by helping students build their résumés and portfolios.

  • Supplement course content with trusted, high-quality instructional material.

Notes:

  • Only users with a valid Seton Hall University ID can access LinkedIn Learning content through Canvas. Guest students or users from other institutions will not be able to view the content.

  • Instructors do not have access to detailed student activity within LinkedIn Learning. You will not see whether a student has started the content, how much they’ve completed, or any responses to in-video quizzes.

  • Canvas receives an automatic grade from LinkedIn Learning based solely on the percentage of content completed. For graded assignments, full credit is awarded if the student meets the required completion threshold (typically close to 100%). If the threshold is not met, no grade is passed back to the Canvas Gradebook.
