Authorize Someone to View and Pay Your Bill

By way of our billing resource, TouchNet, a student attending the university is able to enable access to their account for a parent, guardian, spouse or other third party.

This 3rd party access is also called the Seton Hall University Student Account Suite and allows authorized individuals the following:

  • View and pay bill

  • Receive eStatements

  • Set up payment plans

  • Receive Bursar notifications about account

Enable Access

Note: This must be completed by a currently enrolled student at the university.

  1. Log into PirateNet using your Seton Hall username and password.

  2. Once you're on the PirateNet Dashboard (also known as Okta), click on University Portal. If prompted, install the Okta plugin.

  3. Within the Student Accounts card, click View and Pay My Account.

  4. Under My Profile Setup, click on Authorized Users.

  5. Enter the email address of the person you want to grant access to your account and set your sharing preferences. Click Continue when finished.

  6. Review and accept the terms of usage by clicking Continue (you can also print the terms if you'd like).

On the confirmation page you will be able to add additional authorized users, if necessary.

At this point the email address(es) specified will receive two emails from the Bursar@shu.edu address:

  • Email #1 includes the individual's username.

  • Email #2 includes a temporary password that he/she would utilize to create a permanent password.

First Time Usage (by authorized user)

Process assumes that access has been enabled and this is first/initial usage of account.

  1. Access Authorized Users Site (Billing Center Login)

  2. Enter the email address specified by student previously and enter temporary password provided in the series of emails sent previously.

  3. Complete new user setup process and update password to a permanent one.

Recurring Usage (by authorized user)

Process assumes that access has been enabled and initial setup has been completed previously.

  1. Access Authorized Users Site (Billing Center Login)

  2. Enter the email address specified by student previously and enter permanent password selected at time of initial setup.

Reset a Forgotten Password

  1. Access Authorized Users Site (Billing Center Login)

  2. Enter the email address specified by student previously and select the Forgot Password button.

An email message will be sent to that address, provided it is on file, with link and instructions on how to update password.
