Claim and Share Your Digital Badge on Other Platforms

You can add badges to email signatures, e-portfolios, personal websites or digital resumes to enhance your professional visibility. Sharing your badge demonstrates your verified skills and accomplishments, helping you stand out in academic, professional and personal networks.

Use this step-by-step guide to share your digital badge on other platforms.

  • Use a laptop for the best experience.

  • Have your PirateNet credentials ready for Okta sign-in.

  1. Go to the Seton Hall Badging Portal and sign in with your PirateNet credentials.

  2. Click Sign In on the Certifications and Microcredentials menu.

  3. Navigate through the sub-tabs to find the awarded badge you want to share. Any badges you were awarded in the last week will appear in the Recent tab. 

  4. Select the badge you want, then click Bake to embed your achievement details in the image.

The Bake screen will look similar to the example below:

  1. Select one of the following methods for sharing your badge.

  • Click the Download Image button underneath the badge. It will be saved to your downloads folder.

Notes:

  • Do not rename or edit the file. The embedded verification may be removed if you change it.

  • Only baked badges contain valid embedded data. Do not use a different image.

  • Click the Copy URL button.

  • Click the Copy JSON Code button.

  1. Log into Badgr. If you don’t have a Badgr account, see How to Create a Badgr Account.

  2. Click Add Badge.

  1. Choose the same method you used in Step 6 of 'Download the Baked Badge' (Download Image, Copy URL, or Copy JSON Code).

  • Upload image: Upload the baked badge image you downloaded earlier from the Bake page.

  • Badge URL: Click the green Copy URL button on the Bake page. Paste the link into the Badge URL field.

  • Badge JSON: Click the green Copy JSON Code button on the Bake page. Paste it into the Badge JSON field.

  1. Click Import. You should now see your badge in your Backpack.

Once you are logged into your Badgr homepage and see the badge you have uploaded to your Backpack.

  1. Click on vertical ellipsis (⋮) next to the badge. and click Share.

  1. Select the options you wish to display

  • Type: Card or Badge.

  • Show your email address: On or off.

  1. Click the platform you want to share to and follow that platform’s posting steps. You may be asked to sign in the platform you choose.

Note: You cannot add your badge to LinkedIn from this screen. If you want to post it there, follow these steps.
