Claim and Share Your Digital Badge on LinkedIn

LinkedIn is one of the best places to showcase your verified skills and accomplishments to potential employers, colleagues, and peers. Sharing your badge on LinkedIn not only highlights your achievements but also helps strengthen your professional profile and network.

Follow this guide to learn how to claim and share your badge directly on LinkedIn.

  • Use a laptop for the best experience.

  • Have your PirateNet credentials ready for Okta sign-in.

  1. Go to the Seton Hall Badging Portal and sign in with your PirateNet credentials.

  2. Click Sign In on the Certifications and Microcredentials menu.

  3. Navigate through the sub-tabs to find the awarded badge you want to share. Any badges you were awarded in the last week will appear in the Recent tab. 

  4. Select the badge you want, then click Bake to embed achievement details in the image.

  1. Click the Download Image button underneath the badge. It will be saved to your downloads folder.

Notes:

  • Do not rename or edit the file. The embedded verification may be removed if you change it.

  • Only baked badges contain valid embedded data. Do not use a different image.

  1. The Bake screen will look similar to the example below:

  1. Open your LinkedIn profile.

  2. On Licenses & certifications section, click the + symbol in the top-right corner.

  1. Complete the form:

    1. Name: Enter the badge name.

    2. Issuing organization: Seton Hall University

    3. Issue date: Select the month and year. Add an Expiration date if applicable.

    4. Credential ID: Leave blank or paste the ID from the badge description on the Bake screen (optional).

    5. Credential URL: Paste the Credential URL from the Bake screen (Copy Credential URL button).

  1. Add Skills (optional).

  2. For Media, click the add media button, select the Add Media Upload Pictures etc. button, then select your downloaded badge image and click Save.

  3. When prompted, copy the title and description from the Bake screen and paste them into the fields provided.

  4. Click Apply. You should see your badge image with the name and description next to it.

  5. Click Save to finish. You can now share it with your network or skip that step.

Your badge appears in Licenses & certifications section of your LinkedIn profile.

Notes:

  • It will be added in date order so it may not appear at the top of the list.

  • If you don’t add an issue date, it will appear at the bottom of your list.
