Resolve Banner Admin Access Errors in Chrome
The Department of Information Technology has identified that a recent update to Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox is causing interruptions when accessing Banner Admin pages.
Error Message
When attempting to access Banner Admin, you may see the following error:
External Authentication Service
Amazon AppStream access remains unaffected, as it uses an earlier version of Chrome. However, users running the latest versions of Chrome or Firefox may continue to experience issues until a permanent fix is implemented by the Department of Information Technology and Ellucian.
Temporary Workaround for Google Chrome
To restore access while the issue is being resolved, adjust the following Chrome setting:
While logged into Google Chrome, enter the following address in the URL bar:
chrome://flags/#local-network-access-checkFrom the Local Network Access Checks dropdown menu, change the setting to Disabled.
Completely close and relaunch Google Chrome.
Reopen the browser and access Banner Admin again.
