Access and Send Faxes Using Core Fax

Core Fax allows faculty and staff to send fax messages without a physical fax line. Beginning Thursday, April 23, 2026, faxes can be sent either:

Access Core Fax via the Web Portal

  1. Log in to PirateNet.

  2. Select the Core Fax app from your dashboard.

  3. On the Core Fax homepage, click + New Fax.

  4. Enter the required fax details:

    • Recipient(s)

    • Cover page selection

    • Attachments (documents to send)

  5. (Optional) Select the gear icon in the upper right to adjust settings such as:

    • Priority

    • Retry attempts

  6. Choose one of the following:

    • Preview to review and edit the fax before sending

    • Submit to send the fax


Send a Fax from a Networked Printer

To use Core Fax on a copier, the Core Fax application must be installed on the device.

  • If faxing is not enabled on your copier, contact the Technology Service Desk and provide the copier’s tag number.

Steps to Send a Fax

  1. Tap your ID card to log in to the copier.

  2. Select More Device Functions.

  3. Choose the XM Fax App.

  4. Enter fax details:

    • Recipient(s)

    • Cover page

    • Attachments (if applicable)

  5. Select Fax in the upper right corner to send.


Fax Size and SendSecure Notifications

If a fax exceeds the allowable size:

  • The recipient will receive a notification that the fax was delivered to their SendSecure inbox.

  • The recipient must select the link in the notification to securely retrieve the message.


Checking Fax Status and Delivery Confirmation

  1. Select the Home button.

  2. Click Jobs.

  3. Locate your fax to view its status:

    • Completed indicates successful delivery

    • Failed transmissions will also be indicated

You may select a job for additional details if needed.
