Overview

The Iris Photobooth (Iris Air) is a self-service professional headshot station located in the main open area of the Innovation Hub.

The booth is available to all students, faculty and staff and does not require a reservation.

This system provides:

  • Studio-quality lighting

  • High-resolution camera

  • Guided on-screen instructions

  • Integrated posing tips

  • Instant digital delivery

Sessions are fast, intuitive and typically completed in under four minutes.

There is no charge to use the booth.

Availability and Use Guidelines

  • Maximum occupancy per session: One person

  • Use is first-come, first-served

  • Average session length: 3–4 minutes

  • Be respectful of individuals before and after your session

The booth is intended for professional headshots.

How to Use the Iris Photobooth

Login

  1. Take a seat at the booth.

  2. Enter your University email address.

  3. Follow the on-screen instructions.

  4. You will be able to control the booth using your phone.

The system includes a brief tutorial to guide you through the process.

Tutorial

The booth provides:

  • Step-by-step instructions

  • Framing guidance

  • Lighting feedback

  • Posing suggestions

Follow prompts carefully to achieve the best results.

Take Your Photos

Each session allows:

  • Up to three photos

  • One optional retake

  • Selection of one image to edit and send

You may select either:

  • 3-second timer

  • 6-second timer (recommended)

Between photos, the system provides tips for improving your headshot.

If no one is waiting, you may take additional sessions. Please remain mindful of others.

Edit Your Photo

After selecting your preferred image, you may use built-in editing tools to:

  • Adjust brightness

  • Refine cropping

  • Enhance overall appearance

The editing tools are designed to produce a polished, professional result while maintaining natural appearance.

Download and Share

Once finalized:

  • Your headshot will be delivered digitally via email.

  • You may download and share directly.

Images are high-resolution and suitable for:

  • LinkedIn

  • Faculty profiles

  • Department directories

  • Conference bios

  • Career applications

Most sessions are completed in approximately three minutes.

Before leaving:

  • Confirm your image has been sent.

  • Respect others waiting to use the booth.

Posing

  • Keep your chin slightly down to shape your face.

  • Turn slightly to one side for dimension.

  • Drop your shoulder slightly toward the camera.

  • Avoid stiff posture; look confident and natural.

  • Try crossing your arms or placing hands on hips for a relaxed stance.

  • Remove glasses if glare appears.

Clothing

  • Solid colors work best.

  • Keep patterns simple.

  • Wear well-pressed clothing.

  • Bring a lint roller if needed.

  • Focus on upper-body presentation and posture; shoes are not visible.

Session Etiquette

  • Maximum occupancy: one person.

    • Respect others sessions.

    • Be mindful of time if a line forms.

    • Use the booth only for professional purposes.

The Iris Photobooth is provided for professional headshots only.

Photos must not include:

  • Inappropriate gestures

  • Offensive props

  • Disrespectful or unprofessional content
