Transition to the Housing Portal (eRezLife)

During the Spring 2026 semester, the Department of Residence Life is transitioning its housing management system from MCR Housing to eRezlife, which will appear as the Housing Portal in PirateNet.

As part of this transition, students will use both systems during Spring 2026. This article explains which system to use for specific tasks.

Important Dates and Access

  • March 17, 2026: Students gain access to the Housing Portal (eRezLife)

  • Students must be fully registered for the Fall 2026 semester before using the Housing Portal for housing selection and related processes.

Which System Should I Use?

During the transition period, responsibilities are split between the two systems:

MCR Housing (Current System)

Use MCR Housing for:

  • Submitting forms:

    • Overnight Guest Requests

    • Break Housing Requests

    • Work Order Requests

  • Viewing current housing assignment, meal plan, and roommates

  • Viewing current housing charges

Housing Portal (eRezLife)

Use the Housing Portal for Fall 2026 housing processes:

  • Submitting the Housing Application for Fall 2026

  • Selecting roommates for Fall 2026

  • Completing Housing Selection for Fall 2026

Note: You must be fully registered for the Fall 2026 semester before accessing these features.


 Full Transition Timeline

The Department of Residence Life will complete the transition to the Housing Portal (eRezlife) over Summer 2026.

Once the transition is complete:

  • Students will be notified

  • All housing-related tasks will be completed exclusively in the Housing Portal (eRezlife)
