After being granted access to a network shared drive, the following steps would will need to be followed to them be able to access the drive (based upon the type of device and its connection to the SHU domain).

Please note:

  • Below applies to Windows devices attached connected to the SHU network resources.

  • Processes below assumes that the customer has been previously granted access to shared drive.

SHU.edu Domain managed device:
As in a device that customer logs into computer using These devices require the user to login using their eight-character Seton Hall username and network password.
Typically, these devices would be are old model workstations.

  1. Open the "This PC" view .
    Either by:- selecting its

    • Selecting the “This PCicon from your desktop.

    - selecting
    • Selecting the "File Explorer" (i.e. the folder icon in Windows task bar)

    and

    choose
    • choosing the "This PC" entry on left-hand panel.

  2. Select the "Computer" tab and , then choose "Map network drive".

  3. Map Network Drive settings:

    • Set "Drive" pull-down dropdown to "S:"

    • In the "Folder" field, type in "\\win-file4-prod\Department_Share" (without the quotesquotations).                 For

      • For "Banner" shared drives, the path is "\\win-file1h-prod\" (without

      the quotes
      • quotations).

    • Actively check off the box for "Reconnect at sign-in", but do not check off the box for "Connect using different credentials" and hit .

    • Click the "Finish" button.
