Typography is a robust vehicle for our brand voice. It contributes significantly to how readers receive and feel about what we say. Our communications use two typefaces that work together to bring our story to life. Both University typefaces, Franklin Gothic and Geller, are available for activation via Adobe Creative Cloud. You can activate fonts using the directions below.
Prerequisites
Before you can install these fonts, you need:
An Adobe Creative Campus Account. If you do not have one, please follow the instructions in the Register for Access to Adobe Creative Campus article.
Adobe Creative Cloud Installed. If it’s not installed, visit How to Download and Install Apps From Adobe Creative Cloud.
Installing Franklin Gothic URW and Geller
Access Adobe Fonts
Navigate to Adobe Fonts.
Sign in with your PirateNet credentials.
Locate the Fonts
For Franklin Gothic URW, visit Franklin Gothic URW at Adobe Fonts.
For Geller, visit Geller at Adobe Fonts.
Activate the Fonts
Click on the font family (Franklin Gothic URW or Geller).
Press the “Add Fonts” or “Add Family” button next to the styles you need. Activation applies the font across all your Adobe applications.
To add the fonts third party apps like the Microsoft Office Suite, open the Creative Cloud Desktop App.
Navigate to “Fonts” in the top right corner
Click “Install family” to install the font family to your computer, for use in all non Adobe apps like the Microsoft Office Suite.
Confirmation
Open any Adobe or Microsoft software to confirm the fonts are installed. You should see Franklin Gothic URW and Geller available in your font list.
Usage Guidelines
Franklin Gothic URW: Our primary typeface used for headlines, subheads, callouts, and body copy. It is versatile and ensures legibility across all sizes.
Geller: This serif family serves as our secondary typeface, ideal for more sophisticated contexts. It is typically chosen for subheads and body copy, offering elegance and personality.
