After filling out the software request form and your request has been processed you will receive an email message with a download link and license code.
While attempting to install SPSS you may get a ... cannot be opened from an unidentified developer alert and not be able to install software.
Select the Apple Menu and then choose System Preferences, select Security & Privacy and then the General tab.
Select Lock icon in lower left corner, if it is closed and enter local machine credentials (this can differ from your SHU username and password).
In the section forAllow apps downloaded from choose Anywhere.
Re-run installer for SPSS.
When SPSS software is installed and licensed (see below), repeat process but (re)set selection to Mac App Store or identified developers
Installation of IBM SPSS Statistics
Click the link provided in the previous mailing to access the download page.
On the SPSS Download website, select the link for Mac OSX version to download the installer file.
Once download is completed, navigate to where you saved the file to and open it
Installer will launch Introduction screen , select Continue.
You will be prompted to address to terms of usage, select Read License button and when complete with reading agreement, select Agree.
Select a Destination to install software, choose local computer's hard drive (if not pre-selected) and then select Continue.
If prompted for User Name and Password enter the username and password for local machine and select Install Software(this username/password may difference from your SHU-issued credentials
When installation is complete select Finish
At end of installer you may be prompted if you want to move installer to Trash. You may select Keep or Move to Trash based upon personal preference.
License Activation of IBM SPSS Statistics
Please note, you must have an active internet connection to perform this process. You will only be required to activate license once.
If SPSS folder does not automatically open, please browse to it's location and launch the SPSS Statistics application
When SPSS Statistics launches for first time you will prompted to either Login with IBM ID or Launch License Wizard. Select Launch License Wizard.
License Status screen will advise that no license is found, select Next >.
Product Authorization screen, select Authorized user license ... and then select Next >.
Enter Code screen, enter the license key provided, select the Add button and then select the Next > button.
If license key is valid screen will appear stating as such, select Next >.
Licensing Complete screen, will explain when license key expires and for what components, select Finish.
Close and re-launch SPSS.
