Canvas Studio allows instructors and students to actively collaborate through video and audio media.  Canvas Studio can be used to facilitate student engagement with one another, with their instructor, and with the content they are learning.

Studio media can be placed in announcements, discussions, assignments, and wiki pages. Screen captures and self-recorded videos can also be created. Closed captioning options are available on self-created media and instructors can use it in video quizzing to create engaging media.

Why Use Canvas Studio?

  • Engages students and instructors – share, comment, and give feedback all within the video timeline, and all in real time!

  • Provides insightful analytics – quickly and easily analyze the media students are viewing, how long they are viewing, and when they stop viewing.

  • Studio media is easy to submit, watch, comment on, and grade.

  • Assess students by creating a quiz and choosing from a variety of question type directly on the video timeline.

  • Studio media does not impact your Course storage.
