Some users may receive a Teams desk phone, an easy-to-use, feature rich product, providing a Teams experience in addition to the functionality expected from a traditional office phone. Each phone is packed with advanced features to deliver crystal-clear voice quality, calendar synchronization and one-click to join functionality for seamless integration with any Microsoft Teams meeting.

To get started, tap the “Sign in” button on the screen and enter your PirateNet username and password. Once logged in, you will see upcoming meetings, missed calls, voicemail and more. Your office line will also be transferred to your Microsoft Teams account, allowing you to make and receive calls from the Teams app on your computer or smartphone, in addition to your desk phone.

Control

Description

Message waiting indicator

Blinking red light is a notification for voicemail, incoming and missed calls.

Touchscreen

Select items and navigate menus on the touch-sensitive screen.

Volume keys

Adjusts the volume of the handset, headset, speaker, or the ringer.

Headset indicator

Displays when the phone is powered on. The icon glows green or blue when a headset is connected and activated.

Speakerphone indicator

Displays when the phone is powered on. The icon glows green when activated.

Mute

Mute or unmute the microphone during an active call. If red during a call, you are on mute.

 Manage Your Calls
  1. Select Calls to access your Favorites. These may include speed dial contracts, your delegates, people you support.

  2. Select Recent to view your call history.

  3. Make a call by clicking phone icon next to a contact’s name. You can also use the number keys on the phone’s dial pad to make a call.

 Add/Remove Speed Dial Contacts
  1. Search for and select the caller.

  2. Then, tap the star icon under the caller’s contact information to add them to your speed dial list.

  3. To remove a caller, simply select the star again.

 Add Contacts and Groups
  1. On your home screen, click the People screen to view and connect with all of your contacts.

  2. To find contacts easier, organize them into groups. Select the (plus) to add a contact to the current group (defaults to All Contacts).

  3. Click the bulleted list icon to create a new group.

  4. To switch the view from All Contacts to a different group, select drop down menu under People, then select the appropriate group.

 Transfer a Call
  1. To transfer a call, choose the More options icon (horizontal ellipsis), then select Transfer now in your call controls or by pressing the Transfer button on the phone.

  2. Start typing the name of the person you want to transfer the call to and select them when they appear.

  3. To check in with someone before transferring the call to them, choose the More options icon (horizontal ellipsis), then select Consult first in your call controls. When you are ready, click Confirm transfer to transfer the original caller.

 Set up Call Forwarding
  1. Click your profile picture at the top of your home screen.

  2. Then, select Settings > Calling.

  3. Under Incoming calls, choose Call forwarding.

  4. Tap Forward to to select if you’d like your calls to go to voicemail, a contact or another phone number.

 Unanswered Calls

Select If unanswered to choose what to do if call is unanswered. You can choose that unanswered calls go to voicemail or a designated contact to receive the unanswered call.

 Conference Calls
  1. While on a call, select the People icon in top-right.

  2. Select Add Participants on the top-left.

  • Select Add to enter your contact’s number.

  • Select a contact from Contacts or Recent Calls.

  • Repeat for additional participants.

 Pair Bluetooth Devices
  1. Tap your profile image in the top-right of your screen.

  2. Tap Settings.

  3. Navigate down to Device Settings.

  4. Tap Bluetooth.

  5. Tap the toggle switch to On to activate Bluetooth.

  6. Tap Manage Bluetooth Devices.

  7. Tap + Pair new device.

  8. Set your device to pairing mode.

  9. Once your device is recognized, the device name will show. Tap the name of your device to connect.  

 Notifications

If you have received a voicemail:

  • The notification indicator above the screen will blink red.

  • You will receive an email with the audio file of the message and transcription (when possible).

  • The voicemail icon on your touchscreen will show a red dot on the top-right corner.

  • Your voicemail will temporarily appear on home screen.

 Check Voicemail
  1. Tap the voicemail tile on the home screen. 

  2. Tap on the voicemail to bring up options. 

  3. You can view the transcript (if available), listen to the message, return the call, or delete it.

You can also check your voicemail in your Teams Calls feature.

 Calendar

From the home screen, select the Calendar tile

  • View calendar events.

  • RSVP and join Teams meetings from the Join button on the invitation, just as you can in Outlook. 

  • Launch a new meeting by selecting the Meeting icon at the top-right of your screen.

You can update the meetings to display either the names of the organizers or the titles of the meetings.

  1. Tap your profile image in the top-right corner of the screen.

  2. Go to Settings.

  3. Select Meetings.

  4. Use the toggle switch to choose whether to show the meeting names. When toggled off, only the organizer's name will be displayed.

 Accessibility Features

To enable Accessibility features:

  1. Tap your profile image in the top-right of the home screen.

  2. Tap Settings.

  3. Tap Device settings.

  4. Tap Accessibility.

  5. Tap toggle switch on to enable Accessibility Settings.

You will find the following features available:

  • High Contrast Mode: Increases the color contrast in the local interface. Toggle on or off.

  • Large Text: Increases the size of the text in the local interface. Tap Large Text to open size options.

  • TalkBack: Built in screen reader that voices all visible elements to assist with navigating phone’s features.

  • TalkBack Tutorial is available once TalkBack feature is enabled.

  • Adjusts colors to compensate for red-green or blue-yellow color blindness.

  • No labels
