New sign-on notification

When a new or unrecognized device, browser, or application logs into PirateNet, users will receive an automated email notification. This security feature is designed to alert users of unauthorized access from a device that the individual may not recognize.

Users may see this notification for the following reasons:

  1. Multiple browsers:
PirateNet was accessed via more than one internet browser.

  2. Browser cache or cookies cleared:
Some browsers automatically expire cache and cookies after a set period of time. Consult your browser documentation to adjust cookie and/or cache expiration settings.

  3. Multiple devices: When using a secondary device to access your PirateNet account, the device may appear as unrecognized.

  4. Amazon WorkSpaces Virtual Machine
If you log into PirateNet within your Amazon WorkSpaces virtual machine you may receive a new detection alert claiming access occurred from another state (typically Virginia or West Virginia).

Unauthorized Account Access

If you are alerted to an account access that you do not recognize, please immediately contact the Technology Service Desk at (973) 275-2222 as your account may have been compromised.
