Lost or Stolen Laptop

If transfer of ownership has been completed (effectively changing the ownership of device from SHU to you) then process does not apply.

  1. Alert the local authorities:

    1. Alert the SHU Public Safety office (South Orange or IHS Campus) within 48 hours after incident of device being lost or stolen.

    2. If device was lost or stolen off campus you must also alert the local police department.

In both cases a report must be filed with the respective offices.

  • Alert Assets Management:

    • Alert Assets Management offices, located in Corrigan Hall room 27, noting that SHU-issued device was lost or stolen.

    • Copies of report(s) from SHU security (and local police, if necessary) will need to be brought to Assets Management offices to acquire replacement laptop.
