As a student, your printing will take place utilizing one of the public printers on your campus. BluePrint, the printer management system, better manages your printing, while providing the advantages of convenience, security and sustainability.

  1. Install the print driver for your device

    1. South Orange

    2. IHS

  2. Locate a printer

  3. Release your print job

  4. If necessary, register your ID card

In order to print, your computer must be connected to the SHU domain. All Mobile Computing issued printers are automatically added to the domain. For instructions on how to connect a personal computer to the SHU domain, please see the Windows how-to article or the Mac how-to article.

How does BluePrint work?

BluePrint is the student printing solution available to all currently enrolled students on the South Orange & IHS Campuses. If a printer is offline or out of service you can locate another available BluePrint printer, log in and print your job. There is no need to resend the document to the printer. Your print jobs will remain in the printer queue for 24 hours.

Printing Allotment

As part of the student technology fees, currently-enrolled students are provided complementary printing funds each semester. Part-time students are allotted $10.00 (200 pages) and full time students are allotted $20.00 (400 pages). Students may continue to print beyond the complementary number of pages allotted at $0.05 per page by adding money to their Pirate Gold account. Color printing is available at $0.10 per page. By default, all prints are double sided.

Students are allotted complementary printing funds at the start of each semester (Fall, Spring, Summer). Unused funds do not roll over into the next semester.

Refund of Print Credits

Students can request a printing refund for paper jams, print quality issues (i.e. smudging or uneven distribution of ink) or printer malfunctions. Note, that refund will go into your printing allocation and not be refunded in cash.

A refund will not be issued for the following:

  • User error (I printed the same job twice.)

  • Printed the same document multiple times

  • Printed the wrong document

  • Printed a slide per page when you intended to print multiple slides to a page

  • Printed to color when you intended to print black & white

  • Printed with sizing or zooming errors

  • Requests submitted with no reason

  • Requests entered more than 24 hours past the print job submission

  • No labels
