Canvas Integrated Tools
Below is a list of the third-party tools currently installed within our Canvas environment. If you are interested in a tool that is not on this list, please contact your Instructional Design Liaison to initiate the evaluation process. The Teaching, Learning and Technology Center determines if the tool meets the University’s student privacy and data protection standards as well as technical requirements. Please note, based on the information you provide your Instructional Designer may guide you towards an already supported tool.
Ally
Integrates seamlessly with the Canvas learning management system to automatically check course content and files uploaded by instructors for accessibility issues.
Cengage
Provides seamless integration of educational products, such as WebAssign and MindTap, into Canvas. Cengage's integration with Canvas simplifies the process of incorporating Cengage materials into your Canvas courses, streamlining content delivery, assignments, and assessments.
Labster
In the virtual lab simulations, students work through real-life case stories, interact with lab equipment, perform experiments and learn with theory and quiz questions.
LinkedIn Learning
LinkedIn Learning is an on-demand video library with courses in leadership, professional development, creative media, and information technology. Its courses are designed for in-depth and just-in-time instruction at various skill levels. In Canvas, you can bring content available in LinkedIn Learning into an assignment or as content in a module.
Macmillan Learning
Macmillan Learning’s institutional solutions are designed to engage learners through tools for pre-class learning, in-class engagement, and post-class assessment. Macmillan Learning etextbooks and other products may be integrated in your Canvas course site.
McGraw Hill
Allows integration of your digital products from McGraw-Hill Education for seamless access to content and learning tools as well as automatic grade syncing.
Microsoft OneDrive
Canvas supports an LTI integration with Microsoft Office 365 in Assignments, Collaborations, Modules, Course Navigation, and the Rich Content Editor. This integration allows students and instructors to use, create, share, and collaborate on Office 365 files within Canvas. Users can also view their OneDrive files directly in Canvas.
Microsoft Teams
Easily create Teams meetings directly from Canvas so classes can meet virtually. Instructors and students can also meet synchronously in a Microsoft Team Chat. The Chat will retain a copy of your meeting recordings, files, and chat messages.
Oxford Learning Link
Provides students with direct access to the rich content available with Oxford University Press's Higher Education teaching and learning resources, including interactive audio-visual learning activities as well as assessment tools.
Pearson MyLab & Mastering
Provides instructors with the ability to link their Canvas course to Pearson content and activities through the MyLab and Mastering. Features include assignability, tracking tools, performance dashboard, and automatic grade sync.
Perusall
Allows students to learn by collectively annotating readings in threads, responding to each other’s comments, and interacting. Comments are automatically graded and can be passed back to Canvas assignments.
Respondus 4.0
Create and manage exams that can be printed on paper or published directly to Canvas. Request Respondus 4.0 via the Software Request form.
Turnitin
Provides originality checking, interactive grading and peer review, and allows instructors to deliver rich, personalized feedback in less time, encouraging higher levels of student engagement.
Voice Thread
Allows users to combine images, video, text, and audio to enable multimedia conversations.
W.W. Norton
Allows instructors to integrate ebooks, learning content, and assessments into Canvas. Assessments integrate in a way that allows the student grades in W.W. Norton to be automatically synced back into the Canvas gradebook.
